The same jollof rice might taste and look different as you travel from one ethnic group to another. Although there are popular recipes.

Among the popular foods in Nigeria, Jollof rice stands out as the national food of Nigeria.

Other popular foods include eba, yam porridge, beans porridge, Akara (beans cake), moi moi (beans pudding), and fried rice.

Also, there are a plethora of soups that are paired with eba or fufu and served as dinner or lunch.

Lots of Nigerians also argue that eba/soup is the most popular food combination in Nigeria since it is inexpensive and easy to prepare.

I could make some dinner suggestions although dinner choices vary among different classes of citizens in Nigeria.

I have a typical dinner idea in a Nigerian home below.

That’s a combination of pap and akara(bean cake), alternatively, I can pair pap and moi moi (beans pudding) and serve as dinner.

I can also serve these foods as dinner – Jollof rice, porridge beans, yam and sauce, noodles, Spaghetti Jollof, fruit salad, moi moi, etc.

What are breakfast Ideas in Nigeria?

A typical breakfast idea in Nigeria is tea and bread for most families.
It could be plain sliced bread or toasted bread as seen below.

There are several other breakfast ideas like noodles, a combination of fried eggs/bread, and tea.

In Lagos state Nigeria, a Yoruba-dominated region, a popular breakfast idea is ewa agoyin.

Ewa agoyin is cooked beans that is served with a special kind of stew and a loaf of bread.

Also, lots of Nigerians serve leftover foods from previous nights as breakfasts, foods like rice and beans, jollof rice, rice and stew, etc.

What is a lunch Idea in Nigeria?

Lunch is usually heavy foods like garri(eba) and soup. This is what it looks like.
