The main crops grown in Nigeria are:

    Beans

    Maize (Corn)

    Cassava.

Nigeria has held the title as the highest exporter of cassava in the world for several year. it is probably the main crop grown in Nigeria since some of the major foods eaten in Nigeria are by-products of cassava. Garri (eba), fufu, starch are some of the by-products of cassava. More than 90% of Nigerians eat eba at least twice in a week.

Beans should be second on the least. This crop is cultivated in Northern Nigeria, there is hardly a Nigeria that doesn’t know a single beans recipe. Several recipes are made by different ethnic group. It is also the main ingredients for moi moi – Nigerian beans pudding

Rice is the third on my list of main crops grown in Nigeria.

    Other crops include

    Yam

    Tomatoes

    Pears

    Cashew

    Mangoes

    Millet

    Okro

The main crops grown in Nigeria are cassava, maize, plantain, yam and vegetable (pumpkin).

    1. Nigeria is known for exporting cassava in large quantities and cassava product(garri) is one of the most consumed food in Nigeria so people tend to plant cassava more in Nigeria to harvest for consumption and to make profit.

    2. Maize is also found in all Nigeria homes because its Also in a high side of consumption and also to make profit(it can  also be processed into other Nigeria common food like pap)

    3. Plantain is another common food that is found in most Nigeria farms, it can also be processed into other food.

    4. Yam is also common in Nigeria farms..it is planted for consumption and for commercial purposes…

    5. Pumpkin leaves (ugu) is the most popular vegetable grown in Nigeria And it is most consumed in Nigeria homes compared to other vegetables…so it is one of the main crop grown in Nigeria.
