What is interesting about Nigeria? I am a tourist looking to visit an African country in the next few month, Nigeria is top on the list but I really like to know some interesting facts about Nigeria.

    Nigeria is known for its natural resources mostly hydrocarbon, it is also known for its hydroelectricity, some people like visiting Nigeria to see the rivers in it like Niger and Benue….some like the comic nature of the country(they come here to laugh out their sorrows)… Some come to Nigeria because of the beautiful nature. This are some of the interesting facts about Nigeria.

    1) Oldest Human Existence

    It was discovered from archaeological report that life existed in Nigerian as early as 9000 BC, That’s like 11000 years ago… we had humans living in certain parts of Nigeria, Interesting right? I know.

    2) The NOK Were here

    A group of people… later named “The Nok” was traced to a village in Northern Nigeria as earlier as 1000 BC, the Nok had mastery of Iron use, in smelting and forging for tools, hence the popular phrase ‘Nok Civilization’ However, they disappeared around 500 AD

    3) Most Populated Country

    Nigerian is the 8th most populated country in the world and the 1st in Africa. There are more than 180 million Nigerians. It double as the most popular African country and also the number one country in the world with black people.

    Nigeria is the most interesting beaches and tourism sites. Other interesting things about Nigeria includes their ancestral stories…. second-to-none. their stories helps to develop your imagination and writing skills if you are a writer and also it gives you wonderful thinking skills.

    To many people Nigeria is just the giant of Africa because of its economy and large population, but its actually more than that.

    Nigeria has unique hotel and suites like the Eko hotel and oriental hotel. Nigeria like most African countries have wonderful parks and tourists sights in Lagos, calabar, or Abuja. There are amazing mountains and cave to see at Enugu and Abia state in Nigeria

    Nigerian citizens are very heart warming and welcoming. They are also very hardworking.

    Nigerian entertainment industry is also the best in Africa. The great legend late Fela kutti was a Nigerian. The best music awards in Africa almost every year goes to Nigerian musicians No wonder Beyonce featured more Nigerians in her recent album. Nigerian movie industry is also unique.

    Nigeria is also an oil producing nation. They have the biggest gas processing facility in Gbaran, Bayelsa state. Nigeria also possess natural resources like coal, tantalum, niobium and tin ore and more than 200 others
